Michael Moore: Photographer, Artist, Creative Thinker
My Background
Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, I developed a passion for both art and business early on while attending H.B. Plant High School, where I focused on advanced courses in both areas. After graduation, I joined the United States Army, serving as an intelligence analyst with the 1st Cavalry Division HQ G2. During my deployment to Iraq in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, I was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for the creation and maintenance of three critical intelligence databases. I was honorably discharged following a service-connected injury.
Following my military service, I embarked on a nearly 30-year career in restaurant and retail management. While this chapter of my life was professionally rewarding, I never lost sight of my creative drive. Eventually, I returned to school to pursue my passion full-time, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design with a minor in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). I graduated summa cum laude, refining my artistic voice and technical skills along the way.
Today, I combine my life experiences, artistic training, and deep appreciation for nature and storytelling to create work that is both meaningful and visually impactful.
Who I am as a Photographer, Artist and Designer
While I love creating art and designing logos, I feel most at home behind the lens. Photography is where my passion burns brightest—it’s not just a creative outlet, but a way for me to connect more deeply with the world around me.
Though I enjoy portrait and commercial work, my true drive lies in storytelling—using images to reveal narratives or shine a light on subjects that deserve more attention. I’m especially drawn to the raw simplicity and emotional depth of black and white photography. Without color to set the mood, I rely on light and shadow to uncover the drama within a scene. It’s a challenge I embrace fully.
I’m also fascinated by the ever-changing structures of clouds and how shifting light can completely transform a landscape—or a feeling. These moments, often fleeting, hold immense power and beauty that I strive to capture.
As I continue to grow in my craft, I look forward to building a body of work that not only reflects my vision but is also worthy of being shared and appreciated by others.
My Passions
I’m a passionate traveler and explorer, always seeking new experiences in the great outdoors. Whether it's early morning bike rides along the coast or afternoons spent on the water, Florida’s coastal lifestyle has deeply shaped my perspective and my art. Nature’s palette—sunlit skies, ocean blues, and forest greens—inspires much of my design work and photography.
My adventures are rarely solo; I find the greatest joy in sharing these moments with family and close friends. I have explored more than 25 countries, with recent journeys taking me from the lemon-scented coastlines of Sorrento to the snow-capped peaks of the Italian Alps. Italy, Switzerland, and Slovakia have each left a lasting impression, fueling my imagination and creativity.
Looking ahead, I have aspirations to explore the South Pacific—drawn by its natural beauty and cultural richness.
When I’m not traveling, you’ll likely find me fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking, or discovering new global flavors. And through art and photography, I capture and share these experiences—each piece a story, a memory, a glimpse into the places and people that inspire me.
